Background:
While pursuing my MSW, I spent over three years working as an instructional aide and ABA therapist in schools, clinics, and homes, supporting children with disabilities/ behavioral challenges and their families in building important skills. I then served as a school social worker in a private special needs school, where I collaborated with the BCBA to create behavior interventions that truly supported students’ growth. Along the way, I also trained and instructed the Crisis Prevention Institute’s Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Program for four years, helping others learn safe and compassionate ways to respond to challenging behaviors.
How it applies:
All of these experiences shaped the way I practice today. My approach blends a strong behavioral foundation with an understanding of the social and environmental factors that influence each person’s life. I believe we all engage in behaviors that either add to or take away from our overall well-being.
In behavioral coaching sessions, we’ll focus on building routines and strategies that support you—whether that’s improving organization, building skills to reduce procrastination, or maintaining accountability. I also guide clients in creating their own “mental health hygiene” routines, which are simple, daily practices to help regulate emotions and decrease the intensity of difficult moments when they do arise.
